Last August, Newbury Court purchased 12 acres of adjacent land from our long-time neighbor, Emerson Hospital. This significant acquisition marks a transformative moment for Newbury Court, our residents, and the larger Concord community. It will allow Newbury Court to adapt and grow to serve future generations of older adults. The visioning process and rezoning requests are now underway and will likely last into 2026. Newbury Court seeks to support healthy aging by expanding housing options and promoting the overall quality of life for older adults.

Newbury Court looks forward to collaborating with the community and sharing our vision for a future where older adults can continue to live with purpose, connection, and security in Concord. As part of this collaboration, we ask the citizens of Concord to learn more about the Zoning amendment at the June 4th (2025) Town Meeting. This Zoning Amendment would allow us to build a variety of accommodations on the new property.

Our organization has been serving the Concord community for 115 years. As a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, we offer an active, independent lifestyle while providing a continuum of care that provides whatever lifestyle our residents choose. Our commitment to promoting healthy aging, including our partnership with Emerson to provide expert health care to Newbury Court residents, has long been at the heart of what we do, and this expansion represents the next step for healthy aging in Concord.

Congratulations Concord!
The time frame for such developments is perfect.
Happiest of Seniors!
I am prepping for Town Meeting. While I support the expansion of Newbury Court, I’m concerned about the extra traffic that it will add to the already over-burdened intersection at Old Marlboro Road and ORNAC, and the to frequent back-up at the traffic signal from ORNAC to Route 2. Can you tell me where the entrance road to the expanded Newbury Court would be? Thank you.
The upcoming Williams Road extension to Tarbell Spring Road will provide a high capacity back entrance to Newbury Court.
We will be there to support this worthy cause!
There is a long waiting list which proves that Newbury Court provides excellent senior care and enriching activities. We are ready to move in but have to wait for at least 18 months.
Could not be more important and Newbury Court could not be more deserving.
